Town Extra. History and production[edit]Lazy. Town began as a storybook published in 1. Latibær! ("Go, Go, Lazy. Town!").[5] In 1.

Iceland. It featured Stephanie as an out- of- shape dancer and Sportacus as an energetic elf. The puppet characters seen in the television series also appeared in human form, but Robbie Rotten did not yet exist. A second stage show titled Glanni Glæpur í Latabæ ("Robbie Rotten in Lazy.

Town") debuted in 1. It introduced Stefán Karl Stefánsson as Robbie and featured more finalized versions of the other characters. Nickelodeon Australia reported that by the time the second play finished touring, Lazy.

Town had become a household name in Iceland.[6] A variety of tie- in products and media were created in the country before Scheving decided to develop Lazy. Town into a television program; these included bottled water, toy figures, and a radio station.[7]In most episodes, the only characters played by live actors are Stephanie, Sportacus, and Robbie Rotten.

The rest of the characters are depicted as puppets, made by the Neal Scanlan Studio and Wit Puppets. The show was filmed and produced at 3. Studios, a purpose- built studio near Reykjavík equipped with high- end HDTV production facilities and one of the largest green screens in the world. The production floor area is 1,8.

The budget for each episode was approximately ISK 7. US$1 million), about five times the average cost for a children's television programme at the time, making it "the most expensive children's show in the world" according to Scheving.[1. Its virtual sets were generated with an Unreal Engine 3- based framework, created by Raymond P. Le Gué and known as XRGen. According to Le Gué, "We start with the live actors and puppets on a physical set with a green screen behind them as a backdrop.

The green screen is replaced in real time with the sets created in XRGen. UE3. As we move the camera and actors around the physical set, the backdrop scene also moves in real time in complete synchronization with the movements of the real camera.

All of this is recorded, and the director can watch the resulting composition in real time."[1. Seasons 3 and 4 of Lazy. Town were filmed as usual in the Lazy. Town Studios in Iceland, but the special effects were created this time round by Turner Studios in Atlanta.[1. The series focuses on eight- year- old Stephanie, the newest resident of the Lazy.

Town community. She has moved to Lazy. Town to live with her uncle, Mayor Meanswell, and is surprised to learn that all of her neighbors lead inactive lifestyles.

With the help of an above- average superhero named Sportacus, she helps teach the other residents how to partake in more athletic pastimes. Her attempts are often nearly thwarted by Robbie Rotten, who prefers to lead a sluggish life and is agitated by the sudden boom of physical activity.

On a regular basis, Robbie devises ill- judged schemes to make Lazy. Town lazy once again. However, his plans are never foolproof and always end with him losing. Each of the children that Stephanie befriends embodies negative characteristics. Ziggy, who is kindhearted and wants to be a superhero when he grows up, has an unbalanced diet void of fruits and vegetables. Trixie is a troublemaker with little respect for rules and other people.

Pixel is an inventor who displays anti- social behavior and spends too much time on his computer. Stingy has a self- centered attitude and is possessive of nearly everything in town.

As the series progresses, the characters become less lazy in favor of a healthier way of living. The program features a predominantly Europop soundtrack.[5] Each episode features at least one original song and concludes with a different performance of "Bing Bang," which is sung by Stephanie. Many tracks are reworked versions of songs from the Icelandic plays. Characters[edit]Main characters[edit]Stephanie (played by Julianna Rose Mauriello/Chloe Lang) is the enthusiastic and sweet newcomer to town. She lives in a yellow house with Mayor Meanswell, her uncle. Recognizable by her all- pink outfit, Stephanie is initially disappointed by Ziggy, Stingy, Trixie and Pixel, her friends' laziness and coaxes them to partake in healthier activities.

Her attempts are often nearly thwarted by Robbie Rotten, but Stephanie is eternally optimistic and always manages to triumph over any challenges in the end. Sportacus (played by Magnús Scheving) is the local superhero. He resides in a blue airship above Lazy. Town and is alerted to impending people who needs help by a beeping an crystal who glows on the chest of his costume.

Understanding, courageous, and helpful, he is devoted to exercise and has a rivalry with Robbie Rotten. Sportacus lives on a diet of fruit and vegetables, which he refers to as "sports candy". Eating junk food makes him immediately lose all his strength and abilities, which can only be restored by eating healthier options. Robbie Rotten (played by Stefán Karl Stefánsson) the main villain who continuously formulates feckless schemes in which he masquerades in a disguise to trick the kids or inventions to ruin kids's fun from their newly- active lifestyles. He passionately abhors the influence of Stephanie and Sportacus on the townspeople. A number of his plans are intended to do away with them. Ironically, Robbie places so much effort into his schemes that he becomes one of Lazy.

Town's most active citizens. Stingy (played by Jodi Eichelberger) is a selfish, covetous resident who wears a yellow sweater vest and a polka- dotted bow tie. In seasons 2- 4, he wears rectangular glasses that he needs for reading.

He owns a yellow 1. Mini Cooper and frequently mentions his unseen father, who is supposedly the wealthiest man in town. Stingy tends to be snide and churlish. He represents possessiveness and a self- centered attitude. Pixel (played by Ronald Binion/Julie Westwood and voiced by Kobie Powell/Ronald Binion) is an inventor who likes computers.

He fixes up all sorts of gadgets to avoid doing physical activities himself. Pixel is not very sociable due to the large amount of time he spends alone. He has a big crush on Stephanie and finds it difficult to talk to her in early episodes.[1. His house often serves as a meeting spot for the rest of the kids, since it is spacious and contains a television. Ziggy (played by Guðmundur Þór Kárason) is the youngest resident, who is usually clad in a superhero suit with a cape. He loves to eat candy and sweets—particularly lollipops.

After Stephanie came along, he discovered that there is more to childhood than sugary treats. He is now active and participates in any sport the gang plays, but still enjoys candy in moderation. Ziggy is an unsophisticated character who possesses naivety and gullibility.

Trixie (played by Sarah Burgess/Aymee Garcia) is a mean girl who likes jokes, but are friends with someone . She tends to make sarcastic remarks about her friends. She tries Stephanie as "Pinky" (due to her pink hair) when trying to get her attention. In the theme song, Trixie loves to draw moustaches over the Meanswell's posters.

ARK: Survival Evolved - Part 2 - Multiplatform. Thanks Obey, I know it shows up in the browser but just was not sure how much traffic you wanted. I use Black. Box.

Servers. http: //blackboxservers. Very few issues. Easy to manage mods. The only problem I've encountered was when Ark does a bigger update (original map + The Island) where every single structure disappears and I have to roll back the server, then sometimes it'll load only 1 type of structure e. Very annoying. Scorched Earth seems pretty stable so far though. I might open it up to some whirlpool players, but I'll check with the other people I play with first : )an. We're trying to find a nice 'Home' server haha!

Atm we're bouncing around all over the shop! Check your PM's Thurst, sent you the details. Logged in this morning to find my fox with his crocodile dundee hat and my morello are both gone. Nowhere to be found : ( Bit disheartening.

My GF and I have been watching a lot of vids of this game in past few weeks and really want to get it and start playing this weekend. Anyone have a recommended server for beginners? Not sure what map we want to play on yet or how that works, do you have to start a new character on level 1 if you change map/level? Anyone have a recommended server for beginners? I can recommend a server run by Obey. The. Fist which is called Scorched Perth.

It's a PVE server so no need to worry about getting killed by other players and every person I have encountered on there has been very helpful. I had never played prior to playing on that server so I had tons of questions. Afaik yes moving servers resets you back to lvl 1. It may be worth the 2 of you playing together on your own server so you can get a handle on the game and its mechanics. Not sure what map we want to play on yet or how that works, do you have to start a new character on level 1 if you change map/level? Hey Mate,I started playing probably two months ago, have loved it ever since. I started playing on 'The Center' which was a free dlc map. Not sure if it still is.

That was awesome. I would suggest starting on a PVE server as well, there are heaps within the internal server browser for ARK. I would advise playing on a server which has increased rates (by this I mean, you gather resources faster, you tame dino's faster and you level up faster).

Just means you don't need to sink as much time into it. DWhat's the Scorched Earth optimization like on PC?

Ravensbane writes.. Runs much better for me than the vanilla map. Just had to find a sweet spot with the settings. Yeah that's the same for me with the Island map – had to find that sweet spot between eye candy and performance.

Scorched Earth runs much better than vanilla Ark because: 1. Barely any trees to render. Barely any water to render. It's just sand, rock and sky. Finally killed a rock elemental and wow did I get a surprise when its corpse yields Crystal, Metal, Obsidian, Oil, Stone, and Sulfur.

One stop shop! I can't stand the SE wyverns compared to the Annunaki versions so hard to aim/hit anything. Ravensbane writes.. Runs much better for me than the vanilla map. It's a balance thing. Not being able to aim/hit a target reliably is hardly "balance" imo. AU/NZ] 1. 4/0. 9 [X3. ALL][THE CENTRE]DEDICATEDMods. Structures+Stargate. Joans Egg n poop collector.

Upcoming Version: v. ETA: October 1. 0- New Feature: Procedurally Generated ARKs! EXPERIMENTAL INITIAL TEST! Would this be procedurally generated as in by a seed number like in other games? So randomised maps? Would be amazing if so. Anyone played a Procedurally Generated Ark map yet?

Will have to check it out. Just loaded Steam to find a 3.

Ark, so probably is nowan. Just loaded Steam to find a 3. Ark, so probably is now. Yup. Got about 3. Managed to have a go of a randomised map last night. Took ages to generate which is understandable I guess.

Used to relying on the spawn locations being Easy, Hard etc. This time picked a south one and got dumped on a snowy island quite far from main land with a t- rex and few woolie mammoths.

Tried swimming to main land and got eaten by a large fish/dolphin thing. That was the extent of my playing.

Will try more today if I get a chance. I love starting out on Ark, that's the survival- est part of all, when you have nothing and everything is a threat, you have to build yourself up from nothing until you're safe. Unfortunately, flying critters make the game too easy – as soon as you have one tamed flier, the game is easysauce. I'd love to run a game where there's no fliers.

It would be a lot more challenging. Obey The Fist! writes.. Ark, that's the survival- est part of all, when you have nothing and everything is a threat, you have to build yourself up from nothing until you're safe. Totally agree. The earliest phases where you have basically nothing and everything is dangerous is one of the best survival experiences out there. The game bogs down once you start the super long tames or are having to protect your base somehow while you sleep. Obey The Fist! writes.. I'd love to run a game where there's no fliers.

It would be a lot more challenging. Scorched Earth actually helped with this since it removed two of the flyers. They could have gone further and remove the argy as well leaving just the Moths and Wyverns. I just bought this 5.

USD)Is there any aussies that play this? Maximo. 10. 1 writes.. I just bought this 5. Is there any aussies that play this?

Amazingly low price considering how rich and complex and detailed the game is. Plenty of Australians play it. If you want my advice, the best way to find Australians is to pick good private servers – you can tell the aussie hosted servers by the low pings in the server browser. The official servers are very griefy and there's no telling where the players on them will be from. Did you get your face eaten off by a dinosaur the first time you tried to play?

First time I played Ark, was my 2nd time ever using a Steam Controller, so many things were weird. I need to try setup a good control scheme with that first, then start learning the game)I first died of starvation since the berries didnt seem to do much for the food. Then my 3 year old son wanted me to go see the dinosaur which was a Dilophosaur which I proceeded to bash with my care fists. I killed it. Not long after another one did kill me. Loving it so far, even though I have only played maybe 3. How does the leveling work? Is each server a new character starting at 1?

Maximo. 10. 1 writes.. I first died of starvation since the berries didnt seem to do much for the food. You did good, usually it's a dino that gets you. You need to eat 1.

Eating raw meat will damage your health. Do not eat the black narcoberries. They put you to sleep, which will kill you. These are used for knocking out dinos so you can tame them.

The white stimberries feed you but make you thirsty. The other berries are all fine and are just different colours so you can make paints with them. Maximo. 10. 1 writes..
